One of my favourite comedians is Michael McIntyre. He is a British Canadian comedian, writer, and television presenter.
Michael started his stand-up career in 1999. Shappi Khorsandi shared an Edinburgh Festival venue with him, in August 2003, and told how one night he performed to an audience of one. In 2012, he was the highest grossing stand-up comedian in the world.
My favourite show of his is Michael McIntyre’s Big Show. It has a number of recurring segments, one of which is called “Unexpected Star.” A member of the public is called to the theatre on a fake pretence, and after taking part in these jobs, they end up on the stage, and then asked to perform. These are just bread and butter people who get their life’s wish granted.
The set up is as much fun as the end performance is inspiring.
