In Sharing our Story, we hear from Fr Rick Frechette CP DO. We have previously shared part of Fr Rick’s story, amongst the poor and broken of Haiti. Here he shares a Lenten reflection.

Our song this month is Perfect, by Ed Sheeran and Andrea Boccelli. Andrea Boccelli is a massive supporter of Fr Rick. I happened to be in Haiti when Fr Rick was trying to get some visas for Andrea and the children of Haiti to visit the USA. The US authorities were insisting they get business visas, as they were raising money. Fr Rick was talking to some high-powered official in Washington, who said she couldn’t do anything for them. She added to Fr Rick, “When you get the visas, can you send me some free tickets!”

Our video is a short poem, Tis the Set of the Sail

The riding is a reflection by the Rev Graham Long, Pastor Emeritus of the Wayside Chapel, and some reflections on the life of Dame Marie Bashir.

And finally, our person of note is Lee Te puia, held in detention in Australia for two years without being charged with any crime, and deported back to Blenheim. He has had an amazing impact on the young people here.
